I was charged for a parking penalty

If you received a parking fee on your account, it means your ride ended outside of a Designated Parking Zone.

Why Parking Fees Exist:
SCOOTY works with cities to ensure vehicles are parked responsibly and don't obstruct sidewalks, doorways, or public spaces. Designated Parking Zones help keep the community happy and the service available for everyone.
NEW: Mandatory Designated Parking in Brampton for 2026

The City of Brampton requires all riders to park in Designated Parking Zones for the 2026 season.

SCOOTY will roll out mandatory designated parking between May 7 and June 11. Every Thursday, more wards will have mandatory designated parking. After June 11, parking in Designated Parking Zones will be mandatory across all of Brampton.

How to Avoid Parking Fees:

1. Before ending your ride, open the SCOOTY app

2. Check the map for the nearest Designated Parking Zone (marked with a blue "P")

3. Ride to the parking zone

4. Park the vehicle upright on its kickstand

5. Make sure you're not blocking pathways, doorways, or accessibility ramps

6. Take a clear photo showing your properly parked vehicle

7. Complete the end ride process in the app

If You Believe the Fee Was Applied in Error:
Sometimes the app may show a restricted area even when you're at a designated spot. If this happens:

1. Park outside the restricted area as close to the designated zone as possible
2. Take a photo of the parked scooter and a screenshot of the app showing your location
3. Submit a support ticket with these photos

Our team will review the situation and adjust the charge if appropriate.
