Symptoms of GPS Issues:

• App says you're too far from a vehicle when you're standing right next to it
• Your location on the map doesn’t match
• You can't end your ride because the app thinks you're outside a parking zone
• App says "vehicle is too far" when scanning

How to Fix GPS Issues:

Enable Location Services
  • Make sure location permissions are enabled for the SCOOTY app:
  • Open your phone’s Settings
  • Find the SCOOTY app
  • Set Location permission to “Always” or “While Using the App”

Use High Accuracy Mode
  • Android: Settings → Location → Mode → High Accuracy
  • iPhone: Location Services use GPS by default—no additional setting required

Step Outside
  • GPS works best outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
  • Buildings, parking garages, and covered areas can interfere with GPS signals.

Wait for GPS Lock
  • It may take a few moments for your phone to get an accurate location
  • Stand still for 10–15 seconds and allow the app to refresh

Restart Location Services
  • Turn Location off in your phone’s settings
  • Wait 10 seconds
  • Turn Location back on

Restart the App
  • Fully close the SCOOTY app
  • Reopen it and wait for the map to load

Distance Requirements:

SCOOTY requires you to be within 40 meters of a vehicle to unlock or lock it. If you're certain you're close enough but getting errors, try the steps above.
