Riding in weather and rain

Wondering whether it's safe to ride SCOOTY in different weather conditions? Here's what you need to know.

SCOOTY

Last Update 4 months ago

Light Rain:
SCOOTY vehicles can handle light rain, but use extra caution:

• Braking distances are longer on wet surfaces
• Painted road markings and metal surfaces (like manhole covers) become slippery
• Reduce your speed and brake earlier than usual
• Avoid puddles when possible - you can't see what's underneath

Heavy Rain or Storms:
We recommend avoiding riding during heavy rain, thunderstorms, or severe weather. Visibility is reduced, roads become much more slippery, and it's generally unsafe. In these conditions service may be momentarily suspended. Be sure to check the SCOOTY app for inclement weather updates.

In Colder Temperatures:
• Battery range may be reduced
• Allow extra time for braking on potentially icy surfaces
• Wear appropriate warm clothing and gloves
• Be aware of black ice on roads and pathways

Seasonal Availability:
In some cities, SCOOTY operates seasonally and may not be available during winter months. Check the app for current availability in your area.

Safety First:
If conditions feel unsafe, don't ride. It's always better to wait for better weather than to risk an accident. Your safety is more important than getting somewhere quickly.
