Where to ride
SCOOTY can be ridden in many places, but there are important rules about where you can and cannot ride. Following these guidelines helps keep everyone safe and ensures your ride stays within local regulations

Where You CAN Ride
- Roads with speed limits of 50 km/h or below
- Bike lanes (even on roads over 50 km/h)
- Multi-use paths and trails where permitted
- Cycle tracks
Where You CANNOT Ride
Sharing Space with Others
- Sidewalks (this is important!)
- 400-series highways
- Roads with speed limits over 50 km/h (unless there is a bike lane)
- Restricted zones shown in red on the app map (Vehicles will slow down to a stop in these areas)
- Private property without permission
Some cities have additional local rules. For example:
- Barrie Waterfront: Riding is limited to parks and trails only - street riding is not permitted
- Downtown Markham: You must park in a designated parking zone to end your trip
Sharing Space with Others
- On trails: Slow down near pedestrians and use your bell or voice to alert them
- On roads: Follow traffic laws, signal your turns, and ride with traffic
- At intersections: Obey traffic signals and signs
