What is the max speed of SCOOTY vehicles?
SCOOTY vehicles have speed limits in place for safety. Here's what you need to know.

Maximum Speeds:
• Regular zones: 20 km/h
• Slow-speed zones (yellow on map): 15 km/h or less
• Restricted zones (red on map): Vehicle will slow to a stop
E-Scooters and E-Bikes:
Both E-Scooters and E-Bikes have a maximum speed of 20 km/h. This is in compliance with Ontario's micromobility regulations and helps ensure rider and pedestrian safety.
Automatic Speed Adjustments:
SCOOTY vehicles use GPS technology to automatically adjust speed based on your location:
• When you enter a slow-speed zone (parks, trails, busy pedestrian areas), your vehicle will automatically slow down to 15 km/h or less
• When you enter a restricted zone, the vehicle will gradually slow to a stop
• When you exit these zones, normal speed resumes
Why the Limits?
Speed limits are set for everyone's safety:
• Gives you more time to react to obstacles
• Protects pedestrians in shared spaces
• Complies with local regulations
• Reduces severity of potential accidents
If your vehicle seems slower than expected, you may be:
• In a slow-speed zone (check the app map)
• On a low battery (vehicle slows to conserve power)
• Near the edge of the service area
Check the app to see what zone you're in and the vehicle's battery level.
